Chulmleigh College has an enviable reputation for the quality of support provided to all its pupils, not only to those who experience difficulties with learning, but also to pupils who have particular aptitudes and are regarded as gifted or talented in particular areas. Our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, enabling pupils to develop strategies to enhance their learning. Many of our TAs have developed a specialism in a particular area of the curriculum.
We work closely with parents and other agencies to ensure that the support provided for pupils is appropriate to their needs. The impact of this support is reviewed regularly and adjusted as necessary. The SENCO is responsible for Transition from primary to secondary (KS2 to KS3) and from the College to Further Education and work (at the end of KS4) and this greatly enhances the quality of provision for every pupil.
