Victorians Day

The children in Robins’ Class enjoyed a Victorians Day recently as part of our topic ‘School Days’. Children dressed up and we staged a Victorian lesson. Mrs Tanner and Mrs Hender were very strict and checked everyone’s hands and fingernails, then children had to chant times tables, copy Victorian lettering and pledge their honour to Queen Victoria.

The children were all very keen to try the Dunce hat, but we talked about how this was not so funny for real Victorian children! Most of the children decided they preferred school now and that they did not want to travel back in time to be a Victorian child!
