The village of Lapford is situated in the beautiful Devon countryside between Dartmoor and Exmoor. There has been a school in Lapford since 1865, and Lapford Community Primary School has been on its present site since 1935.



 At Lapford we aim to help children become lifelong learners by providing exciting and enjoyable learning experiences.

Our thematic curriculum helps children to link different areas of learning together, and we have a strong emphasis on developing basic skills, as well as considering children's social and emotional development.

We are lucky to live in such beautiful surroundings, and we have a large outdoor area including a large playground, a field, and the Conservation Area (wildlife garden). We are currently developing allotment areas for each class so that children can grow their own fruit and vegetables. 

As we are a small school, staff, children and parents are able to get to know each other very well, giving the school a "family feel". We hope that you will explore our website to find out more about our school.
